One shot in Sunday incident

July 1, 2012 –
Police are trying to figure out what happened Sunday night in the 1400 block of Jacks Trail off of Janice Road at the Country Club Apartments. Around 6:15pm, authorities were dispatched to reports of a shooting.

Lincoln EMS and Lincolnton Fire were asked to stage while law enforcement investigated the scene. They learned one person was shot in the abdomen. As of Sunday night, Lincolnton Police were still investigating the incident.

Highway 182 shut down due to lines down

June 29, 2012 -- Howards Creek firefighters have responded to reports of lines down across Highway 182 near Joe Scronce Lane and Pleasant Grove Church Road. Firefighters have called for a Lincoln County Sheriff's deputy to help divert traffic and have also asked for Duke Energy to respond to the scene. They were called around 1:10pm.

Authorities have a sex offender in custody for failing to notify the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office of his change of address.

The Carolina Scoop learned the man, Paul Michael Tucker, was out of prison for 11 days prior to his latest arrest.

Meet Harley

Meet Harley, a Maltipoo. He will be at Petsmart in Gastonia Friday night between 6-9pm and Saturday between noon and 6pm.

This is Harley. Harley is a Maltipoo, which means he is Maltese and Poodle. Harley was purchased from a pet store when he was only a baby. He is now 3 years old and weighs about 9 pounds.

Harley was surrendered to Tri-County Animal Rescue about 2 weeks ago because he has a special need. He is diabetic and requires an insulin shot every 12 hours.

Convertibles Needed for Last Man’s Club

Crouse 4th of July Parade

The Crouse 4th of July Parade will be held Wednesday, July 4th at 4pm in downtown Crouse.

DABA's July 4th Fireworks

The Denver Area Business Association (DABA)will host its 12th Annual Fireworks Festival June 30 at East Lincoln High School in Denver. Crouse United Methodist Church Summer Worship Schedule

Canning Class

The NC Cooperative Extension will hold a hands on canning class on Tuesday, July 10th fron 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the James W. Warren Citizens Center. Class participants will learn the basics of pickling.
